Street photography is a unique and exciting way to capture the world around us, and a 35mm lens is the perfect tool for the job. With its wide-angle perspective and ability to capture candid moments, a 35mm lens is a must-have for any street photographer. Canon’s 35mm f/1.8 is the newest lens in my prime line up and I wanted to put it to the test in the concrete and brick-lined streets of Cleveland, Ohio.

One of the best things about street photography is that it can be done anywhere. From bustling city streets to quiet countryside roads, there’s always something to capture. Whether you’re shooting people, animals, or inanimate objects, street photography allows you to capture the essence of a place and its inhabitants. Here in Cleveland, there’s an abundance of beautiful architecture that gives us the perfect subject matter for a 35mm lens.

When it comes to shooting with a 35mm lens, it’s all about that wide focal length, but don’t be afraid to get in close and capture those intimate, candid moments. This lens is also great for capturing the details of a scene, so be sure to focus on small details that help tell the story of the place you’re photographing.

One of the key elements of successful street photography is being able to anticipate the action. Keep an eye out for interesting people, animals, or situations, and be ready to snap the shot when the moment arises. And don’t be afraid to experiment with different angles and perspectives – sometimes the most unexpected shots turn out to be the most striking.

Street photography is all about capturing the energy and excitement of the city, and a 35mm lens is the perfect tool for the job. So grab your camera, hit the streets, and start shooting! You never know what amazing moments you might discover.

This being my last blog of 2022 I wanted to take a moment and wish everyone a beautiful, healthy, and prosperous 2023!
